Short version: the app is licensed to you, not sold. Three octaves are free; a subscription or a one-time purchase unlocks all 88 keys. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel them in your App Store account. The app is a measurement aid — the final tuning judgement is always yours.
1. Acceptance
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Anisotropic Audio ("we", "us") governing your use of the Anisotropic Piano Tuner application and its content (the "App"). By downloading or using the App you accept these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Licence
We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the App on Apple devices that you own or control, as permitted by the Apple Media Services Terms and the Apple standard "Licensed Application End User License Agreement". You may not copy, resell, rent, sublicense, reverse-engineer or modify the App except where the law expressly permits it.
3. Free demo and full version
The App is free to download and includes a demonstration mode covering three octaves. Unlocking all 88 keys and the complete feature set requires either an auto-renewing subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase, described below. The scope of the free demo may change in future versions.
4. Subscriptions
The full version is available as an auto-renewing subscription (monthly or yearly). The following applies to all subscriptions:
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period, at the price for your region.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription, and turn off auto-renewal, in your Apple Account settings after purchase.
- Prices vary by region and may change; any change is shown to you before it takes effect and, where required, asks for your consent.
5. One-time purchase
The full version is also available as a single lifetime purchase. It unlocks all 88 keys and the complete feature set on your Apple Account without a recurring charge, for as long as the App remains available and compatible with your device and operating system. A lifetime purchase does not guarantee future features that may later be offered separately.
6. Restoring purchases
Purchases are tied to your Apple Account. Use "Restore Purchases" in the App to re-enable the full version on a new or reset device signed in to the same Apple Account.
7. Payments and refunds
All payments, billing and subscription management are handled by Apple through the App Store. We do not process payments and do not receive your payment details. Refund requests are handled by Apple under its own policies; please contact Apple Support.
8. Professional use and no warranty
The App measures pitch, inharmonicity and related sound characteristics and calculates suggested tuning targets. These are aids for a qualified technician and do not replace professional judgement, aural checks or care for the instrument. The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that measurements or results will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for any particular instrument or purpose. You are responsible for any adjustment you make to a piano.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any damage to an instrument, loss of data or loss of income arising from your use of the App. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the App in the twelve months before the claim.
10. Your content
Instrument profiles, measurements, notes, voice memos and photos you create are stored on your device, as described in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for backing up this data; exporting a backup is available in the App.
11. Apple
This agreement is between you and us only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the App. In case of any claim that the App fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, Apple may refund the purchase price where applicable; beyond that, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. The revised text and its effective date will be published on this page. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ukraine, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence provides otherwise.
